Review on Eutectic-Type Alloys Solidified under Static Magnetic Field

Processing metallic alloys under a static magnetic field (SMF) has garnered significant attention over the past few decades. SMFs can influence both thermodynamics and kinetics of solidification process by introducing extra force energy. Eutectic-type (ETAs) are commonly used as research materials due to their featured microstructures. This review aims present theoretical experimental results regarding ETAs SMFs, from post-analysis in situ observation, demonstrate effects phenomena such braking, thermoelectric convection, gradient force, energy on microstructural evolution. In this paper, we adopt hybrid approach between an overview comprehensively examine effect process. Firstly, provided concise historical SMF’s impact literature. Next, elucidated basic physical principles SMF material processing, followed introduction numerous laboratory industrial experiments that have utilized SMFs. Finally, summarized provide insights into future directions.
